Grade X students at MAN 3 in Payakumbuh City still have a hard way to go before they can solve complex math problems. In order to find a solution, this study uses a problem-based learning model. The purpose of this study is to compare the results obtained from PBL with the results obtained from conventional forms of teaching in order to draw conclusions about the relative merits of the two models. The researcher used a quasi-experiment with post test only control group design. Simple random sampling method was used to collect the sample. Analysis of the final test data resulted in a P-Value of 0.017, which explains if the null hypothesis is rejected, as determined by the t-test with a real level of 0.05. In class X MAN 3 Kota Payakumbuh that integrated PBL outperformed their peers who used the conventional model in terms of solving mathematical problems. Thus, it is reasonable to assume that the capability to complete mathematical problems is influenced by the integration of PBL.
